Eric and Marjorie otherwise known as “MJ” met in the summer of 2022 at a friend's birthday party. It was supposed to be an evening on the water with friends for MJ and not a chance meeting or secret set-up. She had no idea Eric even existed; however, he did exist… and he was about to change her life for the better.

Smelling like a mixture of chum and Miller Lite, Eric and his friends wrapped up their day of fishing and beachside shenanigans but quickly realized they had a serious dilemma; they were out of beer. Thankfully, someone came up with a brilliant solution. There was a party on the water they could pull up to by boat to and would definitely have beer, moreover… food!

As soon as Eric got off his boat, he looked up and saw a tall blonde who caught his eye because as he said, “parts of her outfit resembled the netting on a chum bag”. He couldn’t take his eyes off of her and had to find a reason to talk to her. Shortly after some recon work he found out MJ sold real estate and specialized in large land tracks and luxury homes. He quickly decided he was going to “buy some land and she was going to be the one to help him”. Little did he know that MJ saw him pull up on his boat and instantly saw those Caribbean blue eyes and said to herself “stop-it” he's probably married or dating someone… but she kept crushing hard on him. Within a few hours, Eric had a lunch date scheduled for the next day to discuss "buying land" from MJ.

Fast forward several months. Despite MJ’s reserved nature about dating anyone, Eric’s curiosity and persistence in getting to know MJ quickly swirled into a romance that would end up growing into so much more. Early on, Eric and MJ became exclusive and intense love was growing between them. Their kids from previous long-term marriages were starting to blend together and all was flowing smoothly. Then, bam… Hurricane Ian sent 6 feet of water into MJ’s home rendering it uninhabitable.

As MJ stood among the ruins ugly crying and wondering what she was going to do, Eric gently wrapped his arms around her and said “come home with me… to my home that is now going to be our home… I never want you to leave.” With his words, MJ instantly knew that three things just occurred: first, her prayers for someone exactly like Eric had been answered. Second, her father, who passed away several years prior, had finally received his wish; she and her children would be loved and taken care of. Third, after many years of being a single parent, she finally felt at home with someone who she genuinely loved and appreciated and vice versa.

Over the past 3 years, their time together has been an amazing adventure full of daily laughter, lots of shenanigans, love and unforgettable moments. They’ve traveled from Utah to Italy and everywhere in between, fished every reef, wreck or backwater bay they could get to, endured Hurricane Ian and the loss of Eric’s father, became weekend hobby ranchers and embraced their blended family otherwise known as The Motley Crue. (kids; Kayla, her longtime boyfriend Christian, Olivia, Brooke and fur-babies: Camo, Odie and Lola their three disobedient dogs, one Grand-dog Jolen, plus Lynyrd Skynyrd the mass murdering cat/ bunny slayer)

They are so excited to begin this next chapter as husband and wife and look forward to sharing their special day with loved ones, family and friends!
